New York Silicon Alley Meetup #12

“Silicon Alley” refers to the corridor of startups and technology companies stretching from Lower Manhattan into Brooklyn. In global rankings of startup cities, it is often placed second only to Silicon Valley.

Launched in 2016, the New York Silicon Alley Meetup shares the latest trends in New York’s startup and innovation scene and serves as a forum to connect with key players in the local ecosystem. This year marked its 12th edition.

This installment featured an overview of New York City’s startup ecosystem and support policies by Anne-Sophie Mahle, Director of International Partnerships at the New York City Economic Development Corporation (NYCEDC). It also included a presentation on initiatives at Newlab by Garrett Winther, a panel discussion with NYCEDC, Newlab, and Square Up New York, and English-language pitches by three Japan-based startups aiming to enter the New York market.
